GEO Nation does an effort of developing FRP with a pilot line of FRP. We have a plan of construction of FRP production line in 2016, which will make us to build up an one stop line from development to production and sales.
What is FRP?
The FRP is an abbreviation of Fiber Reinforced Plastics; that is, composite materials of fibers and plastics.
Types of FRP
A general FRP is a combination of a glass fiber and a polyester resin. There are several types according to combinations of fibers and resins.
The FRP has diverse types because it is a composite material of fibers and plastics. But the following two types are typical.
GFRP（Glass Fiber Reinforced Plastics）
GFRP (Glass Fiber Reinforced Plastics) is made to be hard by adding polyester resins, vinyl ester resins, epoxy resins or phenol resins to glass fibers. It is the cheapest and most general among FRPs.
CFRP（Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastics）
Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastics) has the same strength and hardness as steel or aluminum but lighter than them. This is used in diverse industries from sports and leisure to aerospace industry.
That is, it is a proper material for cases which require strength but light weight.
But this is more expensive than GFRP.
